ALLEVIATING WATER CRISIS
UGANDA has begun the construction of a 6.6-billion Ugandan shillings (about $1.8-million) water and sanitation facility aimed at ending the water crisis in seven villages. Restrooms for schools are included, as well as consumer yard connections, storage and treatment facilities, pump stations and pipe networks. The facility, located in Amuru District, will serve more than 23 000 people. The area lacks access to clean water as it has been prone to flooding and drought. |
