It’s all systems go for the festive season

WITH the country slowly opening up its doors to host events, liquor brand Hennessy treated a handful of guests to its exclusive launch, a partnership with internationally-acclaimed dance duo, Les Twins.

Laurent and Larry Bourgeois, who are known broadly for their dancing skills and have worked with celebrated acts such as Beyoncé, got to design this series’ limited edition Special bottle that is only available for a limited time, and described the design as an inspiration between the art of dance, as well as the art of making the cognac.

Last year, Mzansi’s multidisciplinary artist Faith XLVII switched things up when she became the first African female to partner with the brand on its 10th edition, keeping in line with its vision of working with artists who are part of a global movement.

At the launch, walking into the dimly lit room with lights shining against the smoky effects, the room had an elegant yet vibey atmosphere. Guests were adequately fed and nourished, as we lingered around waiting for the formalities to start.

And although the twins couldn’t physically attend the shindig, they connected with us via video from France to speak about this auspicious partnership and the successful career they have charted in dance.

But before the twins joined in the convo, a local dance group’s opening dance routine became the perfect tribute to the hip dancers, with the entire night MCed by TV personality Tshego Koke.

Guests really put their best foot forward, dominated by black, other stars that came through to the celebration were DJ Miss Cosmo, DJ Switch and Kim Jayde, among others.

The music, old-school R&B, perfectly did fit the night’s celebration, but with the Amapiano dominating the scene, it would have been remiss not to close off the night with these tunes.

The downside had to be the limited space for us to adequately observe social distancing. Overall, the night was enjoyable and was the perfect launch for Mzansi’s festive season that is already in the air.
