REGULATOR’S POLL WARNING

THE information regulator has urged political parties to ensure the lawful processing of personal information as prescribed in the Protection of Personal Information Act (Popia) while campaigning for the local government elections. Speaking this week, the regulator’s chairperson Pansy Tlakula said political parties and independent candidates should comply with the provisions of Popia and heed the eight conditions for the processing of personal information as prescribed.
